"My work attempts to show the joy I feel in my expression of the beauty in nature through landscapes, with a vision that sets a particular mood through my color choices. Early work was less flexible, more in tune with nature’s reality, where in recent works I am becoming freer in using both a looser technique and my own coloration. I love to paint in acrylics, try new subjects, and am always striving to improve. I want the composition to be solid, and the viewer to be drawn into the work and to be able to strongly relate to it. I feel that a recent workshop in exclusive use of the paint knife has introduced additional freshness to my paintings and has given me a greater sense of freedom as I work. I find art to be always a joyful process of discovery and growth."

Bronwen Chandler is a native of New Zealand and grew up in Christchurch, a city situated about midway along the East Coast of the South Island, in view of the magnificently scenic Southern Alps. Her work has developed through use of different media, and many workshops before and after her primary career in Information Technology. Bronwen's work has been exhibited in Florida and Virginia. She is active within local art groups, and also pursues interests in music (piano) and ballroom dancing. She lives in Jacksonville, FL and has two daughters, one living locally and one living in Oakland, CA.
