A fifth generation Jacksonville native, I can’t remember a time when I did not draw, my parents say I was about 18 months old. I took private lessions from the age of nine, studied art at Paxon High School, Jacksonville University and Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida. Now an empty nester, I am back to painting – it is my passion.
I have worked in many juried shows, was a featured artist in Art After Dark 2006, my design was chosen by the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce for the Big Cats for Kids public art project and have worked on several murals locally. My work is in both private and corporate collections. I am a founding member of the Art Center Cooperative, Inc. and a member of Jacksonville Coalition of Visual Artists.
The world around me is an endless array of paintings waiting to happen, I want to share those visions with you. For you to see the constant show the clouds put on in the sky, the way light hit's a flower's petals or the sparkle that lights the eye, that precious spark of being alive. It is intensely exciting to see a painting emerge where there was only a blank canvas or piece of paper. I like the feel of the brush in my hands as I paint. I am the happiest and most fulfilled when I paint. I am in a state of growth. Each new piece is an exciting challenge.
