Animus

​Greetings, I’m Animus (Michael Taylor), an Atlanta and Jacksonville based artist specializing in digital, watercolor, and ink wash illustrations. Since beginning my freelance career in 2015, I have built my artistic voice around the influences that inspire me most, such as rap and hip-hop culture, designer fashion, and comic books. In 2018, I launched TempleAnimus.com, where I showcase and sell my artwork while continuing to blend illustration with streetwear inspired designs.
My work has been shaped by artists such as Salvador Dalí, Noah Bradley, Mark Rothko, Craig Mullins, and Stanley “Artgerm” Lau. While I am proud of creating things like my comic book, Space Log Odyssey, I believe my greatest accomplishments are still ahead of me. Alongside my creative work, I have also applied my artistic and technical skills in the medical device industry, transforming patient scan data into customized 3D models to support patient care. Today, I continue to freelance, develop new projects, show work in galleries and participate in local art events while growing the Temple Animus brand.
