About the Artist:
I am a Plein air painter. That means I go places to paint outdoors. This venue of painting has a long history and has become very popular in the past 20-30 years. There are many competitions across the USA and other parts of the world. One of advantages of this movement are trips have come available to go to places just to paint and experience the culture. I have been extremely fortunate to have gone on five. Each time it has been a special time with great memories, making new friends and some artwork painted by me. So far I have been to the Adirondacks twice, New Mexico, Cuba and this year Japan. I love every minute of each trip. |
There is something about being surrounded by nature, new culture, new sights that makes it magical for me. When I paint I get lost in my world of subject, medium, skill and technique. It is special. Some of the work in this show has been painted in the studio after the trip but most of it was painted on location. I not sure where I will be off to next…I will be there with my painters back pack on wheels going into a new place that I have always dreamed of painting. The list is long of places I want to go and I will makes as many as I can before I can’t. |
