The exhibit honors the upcoming semi-quincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Browse the Main Floor Gallery exhibition and see how artists share their vision of “Red, White & Blue” through works inspired by community, history, and celebration. Free and open to the public, this event is the perfect way to begin the festivities.
Two hundred fifty years, and the story still unfolds-- not in marble halls alone, but here, in the warm breath of a Florida evening.
In Jacksonville, the celebration drifts in with the St. Johns River breeze— a mingling of old footsteps and new dreams, of Timucua earth, Spanish tides, railroad echoes, and the hum of a modern city still learning its own rhythm.
America at 250 is not a single voice. It is a mosaic-- a patchwork quilt of colors, cultures, languages, and lived histories.
Art Walk becomes a lantern held up to that long journey. Every painter, every musician, every maker under these downtown lights adds a brushstroke to the nation’s next chapter.
We celebrate the boldness of 1776— the spark that declared a people free. But we also celebrate the centuries of hands that built, healed, taught, marched, and imagined something better.
