Mom at the Corner of Park & Cherry Streets (circa 1932) Cookie Davis
Here’s mom, Edith Vivian Copeland-Faling, with her new car at the corner of Park and Cherry Streets in front of the Willowbranch Library. This photo was published in the Florida Times-Union congratulating folks to be the first to have a new model that year.
Mom and dad immediately took an extended honeymoon. This was the trip where mom learned to drive…she drove Jacksonville to California and down through Mexico, in 1932. Two-lane roads, mountain roads, detours that ended on the top of a mountain, nothing to do but turn around. Dad, well he was sightseeing.
