Vocabulary of a Pandemic
The Vocabulary of a Pandemic by artist Lisa Lofton.
This painting is a journal on canvas in reaction to the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic. My sister is a full-time nurse working in a hospital with its share of COVID patients. After a 12-hour shift, she has to return home to strip in the garage, bag her scrubs and immediately shower before saying hello to her teen boys and husband. This routine continues day after day, week after week, month after month... She told me, "Anyone can deal with the stress and pace for a time, but there is no end in sight for the folks on the front lines." She worries for her patients, co-workers, children, husband, and herself. Don't forget those who worked so hard to care for our loved ones during a pandemic.
