The piece was technically complex to build, since you are layering inside out turned elements. Typically an inside outside piece consists of only one turning, but in this case I turned three separate inside outside turnings and had to partially assemble and then turn the next element. I then used my high powered woodburner to add the pattern to the surface of each element and then painting with black acrylic.
