Sunset Landing, Welaka Florida by Cookie Davis
Inspired by the artist's travels in Florida. Sunset Landing, a local Welaka resort, is steeped in history. The US Town of Welaka, which began as a trading post in 1821, has a rich past that includes being burned during the Seminole War in 1825 and incorporated as the Town of Welaka in 1887. It was known for its plantations producing oranges and cotton. A freeze turned the town into a resort area, and it is now billed as the Bass Capitol of the World.
