Celestial Wheel by Ed Malesky
Many years ago I had attended a class where I learned a very unusual technique for combining the capabilities of a router with on-lathe woodturning. I never pursued the technique again until recently, fifteen years later and blended the two approaches in this piece. It contains the classical fully circular shapes you get off the lathe with the interrupted aspects of router work. I wanted to add some color, so used mineral inlays to set off the shape of the wheel.
