2nd Annual Lantern Making with Ed Malesky and Marsha Hatcher

The second annual Jacksonville Lantern Parade is set for Saturday, February 16th. The parade will begin at Riverside Arts Market and extend to The Landing. More details can be found at www.jacksonvillelanternparade.com.

To participate you just need a lantern. The Art Center will be hosting a  LANTERN MAKING WORKSHOP on February 2nd with not one but two great instructors to get you ready to participate. The workshop will include your choice of adding decorations to customize a commercial lantern or crafting a lantern from scratch.

There will be two instructors:

Marsha Hatcher will teach you how to make a lantern from scratch and make it uniquely yours

Ed Malesky will provide all the materials to decorate a commercial lantern, adding all the bells and whistles.

Workshops are suitable for adults or children accompanied by an adult. Cost is $25 and you will leave with a parade ready lantern.

February 2nd, 1:30 – 4:00pm. Held at TAC Gallery, 2 Independent Dr.  (In the Landing)
