About  Art in the Park

The Art Center Cooperative, Inc. and the Jacksonville Artists Guild are teaming up with The City of Jacksonville – Parks Recreation and Community Services Department

Join us for a Free art class each month in a different park, all supplies provided.
Each month, we will be offering 4 individual sessions for 4 different age groups: Youth, Teens, Adults and Seniors

First Saturday 6-12 years olds – 10 slots,  Parents/Guardians are required to be present during the class.
2nd Saturday – 13/17 years old – 15 slots, Parents/Guardians are required to be present or in the area.
3rd Saturday – 18+, 20 slots
4th Saturday -  18+, 20 slots

​Children's Art Workshops at Kim's Open Door and the Hubbard House. 
​
Monthly TAC artists visit Kim's Open Door to provide children after hours art workshops. Kim's team of volunteers and employees work with hundreds of Jacksonville's most vulnerable children in parks, shelters, schools, and churches. Through ​Art, Music, Athletics, & Dance, Block Parties, In-school tutoring and Cultural orientation.

Project Murals

We are currently selling totebags at the gallery to help raise funds for materials to create more murals at our Duval County Schools.  Watch the video below to see some of our projects.

​In an effort to give back to the community, The Art Center has in the past provided murals free of charge (not including supplies) to enhance the property of non-profit organizations.  Due to the high volume of requests and limited resources, we have implemented a mural request policy.  If you are a 501(c)(3) organization and desire to have a mural, please complete the following form and a board member from TAC will contact you to discuss the terms of the agreement.   • Neighbor to Family, Inc. – (wall in therapy/playroom, mountain scene)

  • Hilltop Village Communi8ty Head Start classroom – Early childhood themes murals ( a total of 4 different scenes) around the exterior of the classroom building.
  • Community Connections (Disney “Give a Day” project) – Five early childhood themed mural panels for playground enclosure.
  • Jacksonville Speech and Hearing Center – Two early childhood themed murals
  • Sally B Mathis School Garden Project – Two garden panels
  • Malivai Washington Kids Foundation – Tennis sports theme mural in teen room
  • Jacksonville Zoo – Wild animal theme mural on fence
