About the Show

President of the Melrose Audubon Society Professional Nature Photographer." I was delighted to be approached by the Art Center to be the juror for the “In Flight” exhibition. There were 46 artists submitting 111 images. This task was interesting, fun and a bit challenging as the work was impressive, making my decisions difficult. |
First Place Award
RICHARD McGEE – “Along The River” This realistic view of the heron and the St. John’s River is inspired by Richard McGee’s long-time experiences as an avid outdoorsman. Richard’s images reflect the beauty, the shapes and forms created by nature and by time. Second Place Award
KAT McCALL –“ Hummers Delight” Kat McCall’s “Hummers Delight” fashioned from a found branch and enhanced by the charming hand carved hummingbird is a delight. Many hours of patience, experience and talent went into the fine detail of the tiny bird as he collects nectar on his daily rounds. Kat had two additional pieces in the show. |
Third Place Award
MICHAEL CENCI – “Eagle 39” Michael is a Florida native, an avid outdoorsman and a 25-year experienced wildlife photographer. Michael offers a dramatic photograph of “Eagle #39” in all of his magnificent glory. Mr. Cenci’s photographs capture the very essence of his subject. Michael's piece is surrounded by a handcrafted frame with an alligator skin inset. The frame was also created by the artist. Michael makes handcrafted furniture that is absolutely stunning.
