Meet the Artist...

Shakir Husein's Bio

Artist Shakir Husein was born in Guyanese.  Husen was actively involved and exhibited in the Cayman Islands Visual Arts Society from 1982 – 1988, during which time he created many pieces in watercolors and oils.  Largely self-taught, Husein studied with local artists in the Caymans.  Currently, he lives in Jacksonville Florida, Husein is still actively painting in various genres, including landscape, portrait, and still life works.  His work was featured in the NGCI exhibitions in 2015 and 2019.
