Rhea by Martina Munzar
Here is "Rhea" 36'x36' Acrylic and oil on canvas. One of three paintings entered in Gaia (Mother Earth) digital exhibition for M.A.D.S. Gallery in Milan Italy Spring 2021.
The tension between Mother Nature and human nature is evoked in this piece. Rhea is a Titan Goddess possessing the ability to incinerate and blast objects 100 yards away from herself with a mere wave or a yell. The circle shapes behind her symbolize the human race, depicted as a solar eclipse of the Earth. Her facial expression is one of disgust and disappointment. Rhea originates from Greek Mythology she is the "Mother of the Gods". Martina finds much inspiration through her studies of women, Greek Mythology, and the study of Goddesses.
