After finishing the monochromatic painting, I wanted to push the limits of the image and add color. Bright, timeless colors are used to help set the tone and mood of this setting. As I painted it, I realized it was taking the shape of an old adventure series book illustration. Timeless, expressing emotion with brushstrokes and color, in this simple and untouched spot by the St Johns, is Nature's Window in Color.
This piece is part of the "Sailing Along the St Johns" Art Exhibition. The Exhibit runs from August 7th - September 30th, 2023. You are invited to visit from 12-5 Mon-Sat or accept an invitation to our opening reception on August 13th, 2023 from 2-4pm. There will be an awards ceremony, food, drink, and an opportunity to speak to the artists.
