The countryside in Tuscany is picture-perfect at every turn – I loved the poppies that were scattered in so many places! The discovery of this beautiful vineyard with the poppies at the edge of the rows of grapevines with a wonderful interruption of the symmetry of the vines that ran down the hillside was an invitation to paint. I chose a square canvas for this piece as I thought it encapsulated the scene so perfectly.
