I have always been interested in close-up and macro photography, and the blooming bromeliads in my yard offer a fun and interesting subject. Since I am trying to take a picture of an object whose surface is soft and porous as opposed to the usual solid, well-defined surface, it is more challenging to get a well-delineated image. Plus, I got the picture before the raccoons got the flower.
