Growing up on the Georgia coast, I could never resist picking up shells and shark teeth; my collections grew and grew over the years. When I moved to Jacksonville, I was back on the hunt every time I went to the beach. Recognizing the overlapping patterns in olive and oyster shells, bowls of these outstanding specimens are displayed all around my house.
I enjoyed painting them, but my interpretations do not come close to reflecting
nature’s gorgeous patterns.
