For over 50 years I have used recognizable imagery as a starting point for my paintings. Compositionally pattern has always been a part of my work. Pattern is significant as it is the cohesion for the anatomy of a painting. I believe this to be true whether one is creating subjective or non-subjective works of art.
For this exhibition I chose paintings that incorporate my longstanding love and observation of elements in our natural environment, botanical imagery, insects (butterflies) and Koi.
