Piet's Plate by Ed Malesky
In the Style of Piet Mondrian
A quote of Mondrian – “The more basic the color, the more inward, the more pure.” struck me as an artist’s work that could be reflected in a turned wooden piece. I loved the primary colors and rectilinear shapes since I saw one of his pieces many years ago at the Guggenheim.
It turned out that the turning was easy, but the painting much more complicated than you would think.
